This post was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the series being covered here wouldn’t exist.

The second season of The Wheel of Time is virtually upon us, but Prime Video is still rolling out sneak peeks—and the latest is a clip from a scene involving a very uptight Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski) and a very soup-savoring Logain Ablar (Álvaro Morte).

Here’s the detailed synopsis:

For “The Dragon Reborn” Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), the time is now to harness the One Power. Desperate for answers, he cons his way into the facility holding Logain (Álvaro Morte) in hopes of learning control over his channeling abilities. “How long are you going to wait…before you ask me what you want to ask me?” Logain probes. He remembers Rand from Tar Valon, watching “those women parade me through the streets like an animal.” Logain, cut off from the One Power by the Aes Sedai, finds Rand’s request amusing.

Logain seems always to find Rand amusing, given the flashback content of this scene. Naturally, it ends before Logain answers Rand’s all-important question. But is this a change to Logain’s abilities, that he can see Rand’s ability to channel rather than sensing ta’veren? What implications might that have?

Prime also released another little tiny peek on Twitter:

Someone is very glowy in there.

The Wheel of Time‘s second season premieres September 1st on Prime Video.
